I'm so thankful that most of what I've learned in the Medical Assisting field was transferable to my Veterinary Assisting studies. The blood, sweat, and tears I dealt with in a program that I felt once was for me, allowed me to become educated in something that I may be overwhelmed with now had I not gone through all that I did. Additionally, the great perk of no drama is always a bonus, but this time I'm on my own terms, and I don't need to feel so overworked and under-educated. I have until October to finish up my studies, but if I keep the pace that I'm going, I'll be done sometime in late July, early August. Sure, I may get caught on a snag along the way, but generally speaking, I feel that I've really accomplished so much as it is right now. All of the material that I'm turning in right now aren't due until June, and man, does that feel good! I'm getting positive feedback from all of my professors and they've been so encouraging throughout this entire process.
I have enrolled in a volunteering seminar that begins in May and I'll be volunteering throughout the summer so I have some experience under my belt before I go into the field. I'll be volunteering at the Capital Animal Humane Society on weekends and possibly some weeknights during the summer time. I'm eager to start this!
For so long I thought I wanted to go into writing, and while I enjoy English as a whole, I honestly have turned that chapter onto this amazing chapter in my life and I don't want to revisit that again. English will always have a part of me, and I'll enjoy everything that is associated with writing, however, I have found the inner me and am able to express that through something I truly love!
I wouldn't be where I am at this moment in my studies if not for my late pup, Harley. I am so thankful that I had the opportunity to have her be my guardian angel. I still believe that since I was unable to speak with my Mom directly, she sent Harley to me so that she could rely a message to me to pursue something I've always wanted. And no matter how hard of a situation everything was with her loss, I still find her as my inspiration to better my life and my family's life as well. For that, Harley, I'll forever love you! Along with all of the other wonderful things you've brought my family.
Speaking of Harley, D and I see so much of her in Sam. The little subtle things she does that makes us be reminded of Harley's quirky ways. Sam is now nearing the 20 pound mark. She's 13 weeks old, and 20 pounds already. The vet said she's grown three times in size since we've gotten her and well, she's very very healthy and happy. Yes, she gets into things she shouldn't, and she jumps when we tell her down, and the occasional bad act occurs when we wish it wouldn't, but over-all she is just a puppy with a lot of love and devotion to give. The cuteness goes on forever with her and she's quite the water dog.
D, Claire, and I took her to Antrim Lake and threw a tennis ball in the water and surprisingly she went after it, after a bit of coaching and encouragement she brought it back to us and went to do it again once we threw it in the lake again.
Claire is doing GREAT in school. Since I've come home from Colorado, I've seen a huge improvement from her. She still has some issues periodically, but she's really shining through. I can see that she is actually trying. Our communication level is much more than it was a little less than a month ago. Home life has also improved a lot with her. Sure, there are days that she's doing something that she's been advised to NOT do, but in order for her to learn, she's gotta make decisions that may not be the most appropriate.
Well, that's pretty much it for now. I'm exhausted and need to be up again early in the AM because I'm working in the morning. Good night everyone!

I am in love with this update.
